Managing Director
Joanne Horner
Joanne has over 30 years’ experience supporting individuals into employment, education, and training, with a professional background covering careers guidance and tutoring. Lakota was established by Joanne and her business partner, Paul, to deliver a high-quality alternative provision that supports individuals facing barriers to learning and employment. Their vision is to provide a tailored, inclusive service that enables people within the local community to develop skills, build confidence, and progress towards sustainable positive outcomes.

Managing Director
Paul Marriner
Paul brings over 45 years of experience across engineering, education, and assessment. He co-founded Lakota with a clear vision to support individuals facing barriers to employment by helping them develop practical skills and build confidence within their community. Paul plays a key role in maintaining quality standards as the Internal Verifier for all accredited courses delivered at Lakota, and also serves as the Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and best outcomes for all learners.

Managing Director/Tutor
Jessica Stallard
Jess has been a valuable asset to the Lakota team since joining in January 2020 and was promoted to Managing Director in December 2023. With a wide range of skills and experience, she is a qualified tutor who leads on delivering our accredited training. Jess has delivered a diverse range of both accredited and non-accredited courses, strengthening our alternative provision offer and supporting learners to re-engage, build confidence, and achieve meaningful outcomes.

Tutor
Rose Poole
Rose is a qualified tutor and assessor who has been with Lakota since 2022 and is a highly valued member of the team. She brings over 30 years of experience across a wide range of sectors, strengthening the quality of our alternative provision through her adaptable and person-centred approach. Passionate about supporting others, Rose has helped many individuals within the community to develop emotionally, practically, and mentally, enabling them to build confidence, gain new skills, and re-engage with learning, ultimately supporting them to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
