Health and Safety at Lakota Hub C.I.C.

Creating a Safe and Supportive Environment

At Lakota Hub C.I.C., the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone who uses our services is a priority.

We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for children, young people, adult learners, staff, volunteers and visitors.

Whether someone is attending alternative provision, taking part in community activities or developing new skills, we want them to feel comfortable, respected and safe.

How We Manage Health and Safety

We take a practical and responsible approach to managing health and safety across our activities.

This includes:

  • Risk assessments: Identifying potential hazards and taking appropriate steps to reduce risks.

  • Fire safety: Maintaining evacuation procedures, emergency arrangements and fire safety equipment.

  • First aid: Providing suitable first-aid equipment and access to appropriately trained personnel.

  • Safe activities and equipment: Ensuring activities are appropriately planned, supervised and supported.

  • Accident reporting: Recording incidents and near misses, investigating concerns and making improvements.

  • Staff and volunteer awareness: Providing relevant information, guidance, training and supervision.

We also consider individual needs when planning activities, particularly where someone may require additional support to participate safely.

Everyone Has a Part to Play

Health and safety is a shared responsibility. Our staff and volunteers are encouraged to identify hazards, report concerns and follow safe working practices.

We regularly review our arrangements to ensure they remain appropriate for our services and the people we support.
